Job Description

The Cashier Supervisor position entails providing excellent customer service while achieving company expectations. Cashier Supervisors will also instill those same qualities into Cashiers by providing proper training and adhering to company policies. Responsibilities of the Cashier Supervisor:

• Maintain cash registers and their contents, checking for accuracy in the store’s daily cash transactions.

• Ensure Cashiers are at their designated post and all cash-handling processes are handled according to guidelines and expectations.

• Oversees day-to-day Cashiers and addresses all shift concerns regarding the daily workload.

• Ensure that company security procedures are always observed to track theft and/or suspicious activity.

• Ensure that the work environment is clean and in good condition to promote tidiness for customers and staff.

• Cross-check account balances and records at the end of daily operations to ensure that items bought are in line with the amounts recorded.

• Resolve any issues that cashiers may encounter when dealing with customers (discounts, pricing, and store policies, etc.)

• Be proactive, checking in periodically with cashiers to address any challenges they may encounter and give them a helping hand when needed.

• Consult with the General Manager to ensure that all cash-handling needs are met (correct beginning and ending balance and proper change for drawers)

• Train new Cashiers on the job, giving them clear directions and guidelines on how to work effectively.

• Have good communication with General Manager to ensure department needs are met.

• Ability to address pricing issues with merchandise.

• Issuing receipts, exchanges, and refunds according to company policy.

• Maintain reports of all transactions to ensure proper drawer handling.
