Overview of the Role: 
A Molding Supervisor is a working lead. This is a hands-on position accountable for the execution of the production plan which includes the technical requirements in the molding work cell; specifically: Set-up and start-up of molding jobs and auxiliary equipment per the existing process documentation, Molding Parameters, Water Diagrams, Materials
Training and development of employees who operate our equipment and assembly processes. Consistently achieve the end production results of safety, quality and quantity
Proactively supports company policies and strategies.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
  • Regular attendance is required to maintain the functions of the job
  • Manages employees to be consistently performing processes within designed and documented methods.
  • Reviews and assures that process documentation is being utilized by the employees.
  • Performs timely feedback, coaching, counseling on employee and team performance.
  • Observes and reinforces that employees are performing as required with focus on maintaining production flow.
  • Measures and documents employees performance on time, quality, safety behaviors and flexing signals.
  • Gathers data for operator certifications.
  • Provides training and instruction to employees to increase their value and results.
  • Ensures that control is maintained through the use of all documentation and operational method sheets.
  • Problem solves with engineering and planning to solve roadblocks to execution issues.
  • Assures employees are instructed in safe correct way and that they are performing those correct behaviors consistently.
  • Facilitates bi-weekly production and safety meetings for employees.
  • Coordinates and participates in line change-overs and set-ups to occur in an efficient manner.
  • Records daily production results of employees and processes.
  • Deploys employees and other resources to meet daily production requirements.
  • Has employee’s organized and disciplined for consistency by operating processes as designed.
  • Measures and monitors throughput and other productivity results and then problem solves when these are below process capability.
  • Perform mold changes, job set-ups and machine start-ups to produce quality product at standard.
  • Set machine parameters against specification sheets
  • Create specifications for molding processes
  • Troubleshoot machines and molds when needed
  • Evaluate part quality regularly and make adjustments according to part specifications/drawings
  • Evaluate and document machine conditions & write repair orders when needed
  • Set-up all auxiliary equipment to specifications and ensure proper operation
  • Ensure all material is mixed and distributed within specifications
  • Ensure all material is handled within specifications, gaylords, liners, covers, weights, and colors

OTHER FUNCTIONS:
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Successful Candidate Profile:
  • HSD / GED required, 2 year degree preferred.
  • 3-5  years experience in a lead role in a molding environment.
  • Supervision / management training.
  • Plastic processing skills
  • Hands-on experience with Mold Changes
  • High degree of problem solving/troubleshooting skills.   
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Quickly learns and adapts.
  • Proficient in windows based applications.
  • Ability to focus on the tactical details of execution.
