Job Summary:

The Assembly Associate is responsible for applying prismatic material to a variety of plastic products. This position is also responsible for ensuring that the finished products meet the quality standards according to company requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Measures and cuts prismatic material to the required size and shape for different products using cutting tools.
  • Places the prismatic material accurately and efficiently into the plastic parts. Trims and finishes details ensuring that sheeting is properly aligned and securely fastened.
  • Inspects work to ensure that it meets the quality standards and specifications, checking for defects, damage, and proper alignment.
  • Maintains and cleans tools and equipment to ensure that they are in good working condition and ready for use.
  • Assembles a variety of parts to produce finished products.
  • Uses stencils to customize and label finished products.
  • Palletizes and straps finished products.

General Functions:

  • Collaborates with other members of the Assembly team to ensure that deadlines are met, and products are delivered on time.
  • Consistently abides by established safety rules, procedures, and regulations including wearing required safety equipment such as safety shoes and glasses.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work environment.
  • Identifies and reports quality or safety issues to supervisor or manager.
  • Works effectively with co-workers and supervisors, sharing knowledge, resources, and experience to achieve production goals in a timely fashion, while promoting respect, communication, and teamwork.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.


Requirements:

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to follow directions: Must be able to complete assigned tasks as instructed by the supervisor to ensure priorities are met.
  • Attention to detail: Must be able to accurately apply sheeting material and assemble parts required to meet specifications and client needs.
  • Manual dexterity: Must be able to use a variety of hand and power tools for cutting, trimming, and attaching parts for assembly.
  • Accuracy: Must be able to measure, cut, and place sheeting material accurately according to specifications.
  • Time management skills: Must be able to efficiently manage their time to complete orders in a timely manner.
  • Communication skills: Good communication skills are necessary in order to work effectively with other warehouse personnel.
  • Dependability: Reliability and consistency of attendance, punctuality, and completion of assigned tasks according to established standards and expectations with little supervision.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • A high school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience.
  • No previous work experience required.

  • Physical dexterity: The employee must be able to bend, twist, and reach while handling items and hand tools. The employee is also required to stand, walk, use hands to handle and feel, and to hear.
  • Lifting: The employee must be able to lift and move items weighing up to 20 lbs on a regular basis and up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
  • Vision: The vision requirements for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Endurance: The employee must be able to stand for extended periods of time and perform physical tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exposure to elements: The employee will be working in a warehouse environment and may be exposed to varying temperatures and inclement weather conditions. There will also be frequent exposure to dirt and dust.
  • Noise level: The employee will be exposed to a moderate noise level in the workplace for much of the day, due to the constant use of forklifts and power tools.
