Subordinate Staff: Tutors

This school district has three locations with different availability requirements:

Site Information by location:

School 4 - 900 E Gibbsboro Rd, Lindenwold, NJ 08021 - (embedded school day - be available from 10am - 3pm)
School 5 - 550 Chews Landing Road Lindenwold, NJ 08021- (embedded school day - be available from 9am - 3pm)
Middle School - 40 White Horse Avenue Lindenwold, NJ 08021- (after school hrs. 3 pm- 4pm)

BASIC FUNCTION

The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. provides high-dosage tutoring for pre-K through Grade 8 students in math and literacy to close learning gaps. Tutoring will be embedded in established networks of community-based organizations in high-need communities and Local Education Agencies (LEA). The New Jersey Tutoring Corps is seeking to hire Site Coordinators to oversee the site logistics and tutor performance during its school year program. Site Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing work at ALL three sites. Site Coordinators will be required to be on-site on days in which tutoring occurs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Works with the Director to develop strong relationships with the site staff and community.
  • Ensures that Tutors have the necessary materials needed to help scholars succeed.
  • Completes and submits digital records of Tutor and Scholar attendance, scholar rosters, and site concerns.
  • Works closely with program staff and participates in weekly meetings with other Site Coordinators.
  • Manages the Tutor's work schedules.
  • Apprises the Program Director of staff of issues immediately and helps work to resolve them.
  • Works with Instructional Coaches assigned to sites to review Tutor performance and provide guidance as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Master's degree
  • New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form)
  • Experience in teaching
  • Past history of overseeing the work of others
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

Employer Qualifications:
Site Coordinators must be able to:
  • Arrive to work on time,
  • Cover for tutors if no substitute is available
  • Check attendance digitally
  • Create Tutor schedules in Pearl
  • Communicate any information from Central Team to tutors and set up meetings with the school point person
  • Genuine desire to work with young children in a teaching capacity, building on foundational skills and closing learning gaps using formative and summative data and strong teaching pedagogy.
  • Background Clearance- The final offer of employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check and employment authorization verification.
  • Tutors must follow all local health and safety policies including any mask rules that must be followed while indoors, if applicable.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Experience as a paraprofessional, substitute teacher, teacher, and community member who works with children.
