Job Description
A global leader in the manufacturing and marketing of foodservice equipment for restaurants, hotels, and institutions and specializes in custom and reach-in refrigeration is seeking a qualified Production Supervisor to join their successful team in Mt. Pleasant, MI.
Responsibilities:
• Manage work associated with converting raw materials and components into finished goods including general production work and assembling finished components into finished products.
• Oversee set up and operation of machine tools to convert materials into parts, sub-assemblies, and assemblies, and assembled items (including washing, painting, plating, anti-corrosion coating, hardening, polishing, engraving, etching, etc.).
• Directs operations of multiple departments and/or shifts to ensure safety, productivity, quality and housekeeping goals are met.
• Supervise, sets goals and manage results for subordinate supervisors or team leaders on a day-to-day basis.
• Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and adhered to by direct reports.
• Coordinates production activities and processes; ensures adequate human and material resources to maintain production schedules according to process specifications; oversees multi-processes and possibly over multiple shifts.
• Identifies significant manpower and workflow problems and initiates corrective actions.
• Facilitates internal continuous improvement processes.
• Supports adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Assists in the broad formulation of manufacturing policies and procedures.
• Defines training requirements of subordinate supervisors and shop floor employees.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree or 5 years of current supervisory experience. Required
• 2+ years of Supervisory experience (5 years preferred) in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Required
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Required
• Knowledgeable of ISO and Quality system requirements. Preferred
• Lean Principles and policies; 5S, Six Sigma Yellow Belt, or higher. Preferred.
• Union workforce experience. Preferred.
