Mechanical Drafter

CheckSum is seeking a full-time Mechanical Drafter to join its design team in the production of electronic test equipment fixtures.

Job Description

Your primary responsibility will be to create designs and technical drawings for mechanical devices and equipment. You will work closely with engineers and other professionals to create and improve manufacturing systems or processes and develop drawings for a wide variety of products.

Primary responsibilities:

• Generate technical drawings of mechanical tools mostly used in the electronics industry.
• Specify dimensions, materials and procedures for new products.
• Work closely with a team of engineers and wiring technicians to integrate electrical components with the mechanical device.
• Design plans using computer-aided design software (CAD)
• Create 3D designs using specialized software and 3D printer.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma required, Associate's degree in Mechanical Drafting or certification from technical school preferred
• Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience with design and drafting capabilities
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and other related software products
• Creative thinker with ability to visualize future results
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong analytical skills and an enthusiasm for solving problems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized and deadline driven
• Basic knowledge of FEA and strain analysis preferred
