Concrete Finisher - Nashville

Summary

At Hi-Way Paving our Concrete Finishers are responsible for smoothing, leveling, and finishing newly paved concrete surfaces at our job sites and project locations.

We are currently seeking Concrete Finishers that will mainly work at our projects in Nashville (Tennessee), but may be required to travel to other projects located in Charlotte (North Carolina), Raleigh (North Carolina), and future locations to help execute our slip-form concrete paving operations.

Responsibilities

• Spread, level, smooth, and finish concrete. 
• Inspect finished concrete work for quality and accuracy. 
• Monitor temperature effects on concrete.  
• Use hand and power tools, as necessary, to complete tasks. 
• The ability to work individually and as part of a team. 
• Observe safe work practices and all safety protocols and instructions. 
• Other tasks and duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

• Construction-site labor experience, required. 
• Heavy or highway construction experience, preferred. 
• Large-scale concrete pouring or paving finishing experience (e.g., roads, highways, bridges, etc.), required. 3+ years preferred. 
• ACI certifications (e.g., Flatwork Finisher), preferred.

• Demonstrated ability to make sound judgment and ethical decisions. 
• Regular, punctual, and consistent attendance. 
• Ability to gain clearance in restricted/high-security zones. (Airport AOA, Military Bases, etc.)
• Must be open to travel when needed.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Physical capabilities required are climbing, lifting, carrying a minimum of 75 lbs., standing, sitting, walking, entering confined spaces, pushing, pulling, kneeling, squatting, and performing repetitive actions.
