MIX PLANT OPERATOR

SUMMARY

The Mix Plant Operator will be responsible for the safe, productive manufacturing process including, but not limited to following written work instructions and operating procedures related to the areas of manufacturing and handling explosive products; verifying accuracy; recognizing hazards within the production area; move rail cars with a track mobile as required; unload nitrate solution from rail cars connecting controls and steam lines for heating and monitoring; operate equipment and ensure equipment is running safely and properly; help maintain plant equipment, pumps, steam and air systems and metering devices as required; troubleshoot and problem solve with supervisor on any technical or safety related issues.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Lift and work with 50 lbs. throughout the day
  • Minimum of 18 years old
  • Basic Math skills (basic counting skills required)
  • Ability to read and maintain proper documentation as required.
  • Meet requirements of all state and federal explosive laws and qualify as an ATF explosive processor.
  • Must be able to work in various conditions (hot/cold and wet floors)
  • Availability to work day shift and OT as required by business demands.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand/walk up to 10 hours per day.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to wear all required PPE.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • 1+ years manufacturing experience or
  • Mechanically inclined.
