Sanitation (Food) Team Lead - 3rd Shift

Shift Hours: 9:30pm – 6:00am

($25.00 - $30.00 Hourly)

The Sanitation Team Lead will train, on-board, and coordinate a team of Equipment Sanitation Specialists on our 3rd shift in our meat processing facility.  Food safety begins with ensuring everything is clean, and this team is dedicated to our high standards as an SQF (Safe, Quality Foods) certified facility of the highest rating.  This is a direct, hands-on position.

• Ensure that personnel are properly trained and conducts routine audits.
• Ensures that all materials, supplies, and equipment are ready for use.
• Coordinates workload between different teams and areas.
• Assists with rinsing, cleaning, and sanitizing parts, areas, and equipment.
• Performs post-clean inspections to determine effectiveness of cleaning.
• Partners with Quality Assurance and Production teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensures Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures are fully implemented.
• Ensures that all personnel are following safety procedures and guidelines, including that all PPE is properly worn and chemical safety is enforced.

• 3+ years’ experience in Sanitation in a Food Processing environment
• Experience with chemical safety and SDS training required.
• Understanding of HACCP, SSOP, GMP’s
• Experience with USDA a plus
• Demonstrated analytical skills, independent decision-making skills, self-motivation and strong communication and leadership skills.
• Must be committed to a team concept and have exemplified the ability to function in a fast-paced team environment.
• Must be willing to work in an environment that is: hot, cold, wet, and humid.
• Communicate effectively with various support groups, supervisors, and team members.
• Maintain a high level of professional and organizational ethics and image.
• Must be able to climb and descend stairs a minimum of 8 times per day and conduct rigorous equipment inspections.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to stand and be on the plant floor 95% of the time.
• Flexible with hours. Must be willing to work 3rd Shift and weekends as needed.
• English-Spanish Bi-lingual preferred
