Job Title: Relief Housekeeping Supervisor (Bilingual)

Classification: Non-Exempt


Role Description


Dallas Country Club (DCC) is currently seeking experienced individuals for the Relief Housekeeping Supervisor. DCC, founded in 1896, is the most exclusive and prestigious private club in the area and we pride ourselves on hiring the best of the best.


Under general supervision of the Director of Housekeeping, the Relief/Floating Housekeeping Supervisor acts as a relief for the Am and PM Housekeeping Supervisors and Sports Complex supervisor to provide a clean, safe, and attractive environment for Staff, Members, and guests by ensuring the full range of custodial work is completed and providing lead work direction for a team of contracted employees engaged in custodial work.


Key Responsibilities


  • Individuals must know how to perform basic restroom, kitchen public area cleaning, floor care and be able to use and operate basic laundry and custodial equipment e.g. brooms dust mop, wet mop, vacuum cleaner, and floor care equipment.
  • Individual must be flexible and able to adjust to business levels.
  • The ability to determine and estimate material and equipment is needed to complete tasks/jobs/responsibility in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Provide directions, including training others in proper work methods and safety and providing feedback on work performance.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects/tasks with completing goals by a given deadline.
  • Maintain regular and acceptable punctuality and attendance, adhering to defined work hours.
  • Assigning housekeeping tasks to staff and inspecting work to ensure that the prescribed standards of cleanliness are met.
  • Investigating and addressing complaints regarding poor housekeeping service.
  • Regularly taking inventory of cleaning supplies.
  • Issuing cleaning supplies and equipment to housekeeping staff as needed.
  • Organizing replacements as required, if necessary, performing various cleaning duties in instances of staff shortages.
  • Organize stock and maintain amenities in locker rooms, spa, showers, and restrooms throughout the sports center to include indoor tennis facility.
  • Must be able to keep all linens/towels in locker rooms, conditioning rooms, gym, and spa stocked at all times.
  • Must ensure that dirty linen/towels are being taken to laundry and clean linen picked up in a timely manner.
  • Must ensure that all dirty linen and trash is removed from member areas throughout shift.
  • Constantly walk areas to include tennis shop, sports grille bar and restaurant to ensure windows and door glass are clean.
  • Ensure that all courts have clean towels and dirty towels are removed and sent to laundry.
  • Must engage with staff to ensure that all assignments are completed daily.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills, and knowledge:


  • Must be bilingual
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 to 3 years of custodial experience that reflects the potential for supervising others.
  • Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the position and perform arithmetic calculations as required by the position.
  • Able to work independently and within the framework of a team, accepting his/her role as required.
  • Committed to high standards of safety and willing and able to comply with all safety laws.
  • Must have the ability to perform day-to-day responsibilities with little or no direction.
  • Must have flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to address urgent operational needs or scheduling conflicts.
  • Must have the ability to work cooperatively in group situations and work actively to resolve conflicts.

The ideal candidate will have the following competencies and qualities:


  • Knowledge of custodial cleaning method materials, chemicals, and equipment used in custodial work and of the safety and sanitation practices and measures required.
  • Establish and maintain positive outlook and encourage open communication, maintain objectivity.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability that may include working in areas with limited light; exposed to cold and hot temperatures.
  • May work below the surface or in confined spaces.
  • Prolonged period of walking, standing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, bending, climbing stairs and ladders.
  • Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects.
