Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Manager to join our team. The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive safety programs across manufacturing and field operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in fostering a safety culture and minimizing workplace hazards to promote the well-being of our employees.

Key Responsibilities:
Policy Development and Communication:
  • Design, create, and keep safety policies, procedures, and manuals up to date, ensuring effective communication to all levels of the organization, employees, managers, and general contractors in manufacturing and field operations for ETP and GC.
  • Per project customize safety documentation to respond to customer and general contractor requirements and operational conditions of each project in the field.
Training and Certification:
  • Ensure all employees receive appropriate training and certifications according to OSHAS requirements, general contractor specifications, and job roles.
  • Keep records of all certifications and training updates.
Project Safety Management:
  • Manage all safety topics with general contractors and the Project Manager to establish and enforce safety requirements before the commencement of each project, coordinating safety measures throughout all project phases.
  • Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks, drafts inspection reports to document inspection findings
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
Incident Reporting and Investigation:
  • Establish a robust incident reporting system, ensuring prompt reporting by employees and supervisors.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of accidents and incidents, managing legal and medical aspects in compliance with regulations, insurance, and best practices.
OSHA Compliance:
  • Prepare and submit all necessary reports to OSHA, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
Worker's Compensation Management:
  • Manage worker's compensation cases, ensuring proper incident classification to reflect accurate EMOD and other metrics.
  • Follow up on incidents, providing support and facilitating the return of employees to work in a healthy state.
Safety Metrics and records:
  • Maintain and communicate safety metrics to supervisors and foremen to promote safety involvement and culture.
  • Analyze incident reports, metrics, and injury case studies to institute changes that lead to a safer environment
  • Maintain accurate and current records following guidelines
Safety Program Management:
  • Manage and uphold all safety programs outlined in the Safety Manual, including but not limited to drugs, hazards, and emergency response procedures.
  • Provide immediate assistance and guidance on safety-related matters to enhance overall safety awareness with the guidance of Safety Manager.
  • Advise the company’s administrative team on safety issues and compliance in specific projects and operations
Utilization of Safety Platform:
  • Design and monitor participation and reports on the safety platform "Safesite" to ensure all reports are reviewed and taken care of towards resolution.
Safety Culture Promotion:
  • Work collaboratively with the leadership team to drive and support a safety culture, fostering a preventive mindset to ensure employees return home healthy.
  • Consistently apply disciplinary actions, coaching, and incentive programs to support Safety behaviors.
  • The occupant can participate in the legal process of representing the company.
  • Perform other duties assigned by President.
Our East Texas Precast next team member will ideally possess the following skills, experiences, and work qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required; or equivalent in years of experience (6 to 10)
  • 5 to 10 years of related experience preferred in construction field.
  • Proven experience in safety management, preferably in manufacturing and field operations.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and general contractor safety requirements.
  • Strong communication, training, and leadership skills.
  • Certification in safety management or related fields is a plus.
  • First Aid, CPR certified capacity to manage cases involving Injuries.
  • Competence and tolerance in handling cases related to injuries. The applicant should possess the necessary skills and resilience required to navigate complex and sensitive situations, ensuring a comprehensive, legal, and compassionate approach to each case.
  • Preferable certified on COSM; CSHOGI; CSHOC

Working Conditions:
This position may require some time spent on the plant floor. Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to support safety initiatives. Able to walk in different weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds. Able to drive and travel around Texas.
