Description

SALARY

$60,000 - $70,000

POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision, reviews, processes, audits, and maintains records of capital contract invoices and payments.

Qualifications

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews capital contract invoices for contract compliance, backup data, and accuracy of calculations. Oversees subsequent processing to ensure timely payment.
  • Develops computerized ledger system/database to track individual line items and to monitor and report payments and progress. Prepares reports to indicate the financial status of assigned accounts.
  • Reviews contract documents, including cost & price sheet, payroll reports, material and service reports and other direct costs; compares them with contract terms, conditions and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Assembles and reviews documents submitted for contract closeout and notifies appropriate CTA departments of financial disposition. Reviews contract terms and submits payments accordingly.
  • Attends meetings with Authority personnel and consultants regarding capital contracts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Maintaining amiable relations with various levels of Authority personnel and outside contacts in addition to completing all assigned work in an accurate and timely manner.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Previous experience with construction accounting, contract compliance, auditing, and/or invoice review is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Requires remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time and constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery.
  • Service Area Requirement: Exempt (Non-Union) employees must live within the boundaries of the CTA Statutory Service Area either at the time of employment or within 6 months of beginning employment at CTA.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of internal controls.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).
  • General knowledge of government regulations FAR 31, etc.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.
  • Working knowledge of the Oracle System.
  • Good interpersonal skills in dealing with external groups and/or organizations.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work with sensitive information while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve a wide range of issues and/or problems including strategic planning and cost/benefit analysis.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • General office environment.

  • Standard office equipment.
  • Personal computer and related software.

Final salary will be determined in part by the qualifications of the selected candidate and may be higher or lower than target.
