DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will welcome guests at Laurel Hill State Park Complex (Laurel Hill, Kooser, and Laurel Ridge State Parks) and offer guidance to park visitors. You will handle phone and written inquiries, addressing questions or directing calls to the appropriate staff. Additionally, you will provide assistance to individuals interested in employment opportunities within the Commonwealth, whether in Civil Service or Non-Civil Service roles.

Operating within the guidelines established by the Bureau and Park Management, you will work independently to ensure that visitor service and safety meet the highest standards. Your responsibilities will include providing information not only about the Laurel Hill State Park Complex but also about the various attractions in the Laurel Highlands region.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Seasonal full-time employment without benefits.
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Weekends, evenings, holidays and all shifts as needed for park operations and to meet seasonal needs.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
