THE POSITION

The Beaver County Human Services MH/ID Unit is seeking a Clerk Typist 2 to join our team of dedicated professionals. Work with us to make a difference in the community, apply today.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Clerk Typist 2 performs a variety of clerical support duties such as typing correspondence, electronic scanning/filing, answering the telephone, greeting visitors and opening/sorting mail. Work includes entering client information into various state and county databases. Computer skills and knowledge would be beneficial in this position.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, one day a week, after successfully completing a probationary period. Telework is permitted depending on office needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Beaver Falls.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or
  • Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or
  • Any combination of equivalent experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, or Washington counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
