Affiliated Monitoring is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated Facilities Engineer- Building and Critical Utilities for an immediate opening in the Union, New Jersey area. The ideal candidate would be working at both of our 80,000 sq/ft and 20,000 sq/ft Union, New Jersey locations, having a minimum of 5 years of experiences, and possess the ability to communicate and execute a variety of facility functions while maintaining a neat and professional appearance.

Located on a beautiful campus in Union, New Jersey, our state-of-the-art monitoring center facility is the most advanced in the United States. The team at Affiliated Monitoring protects millions of people by monitoring their security alarms, fire alarms and medical alert systems.


Role Overview:

  • Maintain our Standards: Ensure that our buildings, internal and external, are kept in excellent condition. Ensure the office spaces and services adhere to our quality standards, as well as comply with regulations regarding safety and security.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Ensure all building systems are maintained at the highest standards with proactive and preventive maintenance, testing and repair schedules.
  • Construction Management: As the company expands, collaborate with facilities leaders on all large and small property construction projects from remodels to entire fit-outs for new building or space acquisition.
  • Vendor Management: Ensure proper supervision and cooperation with vendors that includes but not limited to deliveries and services.
  • Emergency Response: Emergencies happen on and off the clock, 24/7/365 availability is required to respond to any critical issue that may occur to control the situation.


Detailed Responsibilities:


  • Responsibilities encompass maintenance and repair, as well as planning and executing engineering and construction tasks alongside vendor/contractors. Additionally, addressing complaints and resolving issues are integral components of the role.
  • Conducts thorough inspections of building systems, which include fire alarms, BAS/BMS System, Badge Access System, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing, to ascertain equipment operation aligns with design specifications and achieves desired environmental conditions.
  • Accountable for all facets of facilities mechanical and electrical matters, which encompasses: Boilers, Emergency Backup Generators, UPS, ATS, Switchgear, and STS.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and implement proper solutions to buildings facilities such as roof repairs, window leaks, doors, floors, plumbing, low voltage electrical, drywall, painting, ceiling tiles, light bulbs and fixtures, and other parts of building structures in a timely manner.
  • Assist with additional duties as needed.
  • Coordinate and Schedule the services/repairs with contracted vendors of the facility in the absence of Property Managers.
  • Perform all facets of the repairs safely while utilizing hand tools, power tools and precision tools at different heights or adverse conditions.
  • Maintain proper general housekeeping, of equipment and work area. Keep all tools in intended working condition.
  • Proactively looking for site and human safety concerns and adhering to all safety policies and procedures
  • Strong Knowledge of computer and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Act on on-call emergency duties in a 24/7/365 fashion.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of related, hands on, work experience
  • Reliable transportation for on-call after normal working hour emergencies
  • Comfortable working on ladders and roofs
  • Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs.
  • Green Card/US Citizenship
