Schedule:


  • Full time caregiving hours per week
  • On-Call 2 weekdays per week
  • On-Call every other Friday/Saturday/Sunday

Benefits:


  • Paid Vacation: PTO accrued at a rate of 0.038 per hour. (equivalent of 80 hours annually based on a 40-hour work week), eligible to use after 6 months.    
  • Paid Sick Leave: 0.5 hours of paid sick time off per every 20 hours a worked.
  • Eligible after 3 months of work: Employee Medical insurance, 401K.                     

 

Essential Job Functions:


  • On-call caregiver rotation
  • Perform hands-on patient care at the place of assignment: In-home, Facility, or Adult Family Home.
  • Provides quality care to patients/clients in an environment which promotes patient/ client rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and individuality.
  • Provide individualized attention and encourage residents to maintain or attain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
  • Understanding and ensuring that individualized care plans are followed. Report any change of condition or observation of patient need to nurse supervisor.
  • Assist with ADLs: including assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, colostomy care, prosthetic appliances, transferring, ambulation, range of motion, communicating, or other needs in keeping with the individuals’ care requirements as directed.
  • Promote skin integrity to prevent pressure ulcers, skin tears, and other damage by changing incontinent residents, turning, repositioning immobile residents, and applying moisturizers to fragile skin.
  • Treat each patient client's personal property with respect.
  • Performs various delegated tasks assigned by the nurse including vital signs, residents’ weights, and applying creams/ointments.
  • Physical able to lift 50 lbs, using proper body mechanics, or lifting devices for accident prevention.
  • Understand and be able to follow safety and infection control procedures including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves where indicated, and proper disposal of soiled materials.
  •  Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm and a client comes first attitude
  •  Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with the resident, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
  • Fosters a culture of excellence and provides exceptionally reliable, safe, high-quality patient care. Always remember that when you are in the community you reflect the Journey Culture.
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed


Qualifications/Educational Requirements:


  • High school graduate or G.E.D certificate
  • CNA or HCA license to provide home care in Washington State. Can complete Training on-site
  • Experience as a Home Care Aide (in homes or facilities), or other applicable experience preferred. 
  • Be listed in good standing with the Washington DSHS Background Check System
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
  • Have transportation to and from job.
  • If providing transportation clients, you must have a valid driver's license and insurance.
  • Population-specific experience a plus, (training may be provided) for conditions such as: dementia, Parkinson's, hospice/ end of life care.
  • RN delegation certificate a plus may complete training through journey Nursing Services.
