Bartender

Job Summary:

Arlo Chicago is seeking a skilled Bartender to join our dynamic team. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service by preparing and serving a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to our guests. You will also play a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests and ensuring a smooth operation of the bar area. This is a full-time, individual contributor position in the hotel/hospitality industry located in Chicago, Illinois.

Compensation & Benefits:
The compensation for this position is $9.48 per hour, paid biweekly. In addition, eligible employees will receive benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and opportunities for career growth within the company.

Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests and take their orders, providing suggestions and recommendations as needed
- Accurately prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes
- Utilize a POS system to ring in orders and process payments
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area at all times including stocking supplies and cleaning equipment
- Monitor alcohol intake and identify any potential issues or concerns
- Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, providing outstanding customer service
- Create a positive and enjoyable atmosphere for guests by engaging in conversation and providing a memorable experience
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Work collaboratively with the rest of the team to ensure a smooth operation of the bar area
- Attend and actively participate in training sessions and meetings to stay updated on menu changes and promotions

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 1 year of experience as a bartender in a fast-paced restaurant or bar setting
- Knowledge of cocktails, beers, and wines
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Basic math and cash handling skills
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
