SCHEDULE: MONDAY - THURSDAY (10-HOUR SHIFTS) OR MONDAY – FRIDAY (8-HOUR SHIFTS) *POTENTIAL FOR OVERTIME

In this role you will represent the company in the field and will be responsible for making sure that the crew and equipment are ready for the next assignment. You will need to ensure that the work is performed to company standards and that the results are presented in a clear and concise format. *You will be responsible to lead the field effort for various surveying tasks including; construction layout, topographic, boundary, right-of-way, and control survey projects

Key Responsibilities
  • Assign and monitor work, and provide input for evaluation of field survey crew members
  • Instruct and train crew members in survey methods, use of equipment, and field safety procedures
  • Gather field survey data through the use of conventional, Global Positioning System (GPS) and Terrestrial LiDAR Scanning methods
  • Set up, adjust, and operate surveying equipment, including a total station, data collector, GPS equipment and a terrestrial LiDAR scanner.
  • Prepare field notes and drawings
  • Perform field surveying for roadway, bridges, and flood control projects, including survey construction stake out, locating or establishing vertical and horizontal control for right of ways and boundaries and level runs to establish benchmarks.
List Responsibilities 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Two (2) years of crew chief experience.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to manage and organize a field crew
  • Ability to carry and lift equipment as needed on the project
  • Ability to cut and/or clear brush while establishing survey lines (machete use)
  • Knowledge of equipment and ability to set up for various types for different work situations
  • Ability to hold and proficiently use all measuring devices
  • Valid driver's license with approved/acceptable driving history required
  • Ability to travel (if needed)
