THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Custodial Work Supervisor, you will oversee the work performed by the custodial staff to provide a clean, sanitary, and attractive environment for our residents, employees, and visitors. You will supervise staff performing standard or aseptic cleaning and sanitation work, which includes cleaning buildings, laundry duties, gathering and removing waste, and washing windows. You will also maintain employee work schedules and leave requests; inventory supplies; and submit requests for repairs to buildings, furniture, and equipment. An important aspect of this work involves ensuring efficiency in the custodial unit's work processes and recommending improvements that meet operational needs. Work is performed under the general direction of a custodial services manager or administrative supervisor, and is reviewed through personal conferences, reports, observation, and quality of completed work.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, rotating days, including weekends and holidays, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Overtime as needed. This may change based on operational need.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Custodial Worker 2 (commonwealth title); or
  • Two years of experience performing custodial work.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
