Customer Relations Specialist w/flex time

We are looking for someone to join our Customer Relations Team! The Customer Relations Specialist receives requests for quotes, orders, and lead times from customers and responds accordingly. They respond to customer questions, complaints, and inquiries, providing a high level of customer service. They provide quotes on standard items, write orders, and relay pertinent order information to customers. This position coordinates with other departments in handling purchase orders and providing service to customers.

Essential Functions:

1. Achieve and maintain positive rapport with customers and continuously work to give them the best possible service.
2. Update and place customer orders, upselling where possible.
3. Ensure correct codes are used for retrieving and inputting all sales information.
4. Follow up with customers on order inquiries and transfer all customer calls to the appropriate staff. Continue to follow up on customer inquiries that are not immediately resolved ensuring satisfactory resolution.
5. Identify, research, and resolve customer issues such as improper billing, misapplied payments, etc., using the computer system.
6. Check with accounting and verify credit status on all customer rush orders.
7. Work with the Sales Manager to recommend process improvements.
8. Maintain computer files of active orders and post activity such as change notices, scheduling changes, partial shipments, and credit changes.
9. Routinely cover front desk as needed.
10. Clerical duties as assigned
11. Presence in the workplace is an essential function of this job.
12. Hours are typically from 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday; employees in this position are allowed to flex schedule with manager approval.

Additional Functions:

1. On rare occasions travel to trade shows and/or customer sales show.
2. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Excellent typing skills-preferably 60+ words per minute.
• Excellent communication skills-speaks English clearly and persuasively in all situations, both positive and negative.
• Proven problem solving and customer service skills.
• Effective written communication and reasoning skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Working Conditions:Our office environment is a typical office environment does not substantially expose workers to adverse environmental conditions. The position may require occasional visits to the shop floor. Our production environment includes a variety of environmental elements including loud noise, dust, and aromas. While this is an indoor operation, temperatures will vary with the outdoor temperature and some areas of the shop may be hot or cold.Physical Requirements:

Office positions are usually sedentary. The employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time. Standing desks are available. Noise level in the office is typically quiet to moderate.
