We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Groomer to join our team at Bay Paws Pet Resort. We welcome pups and kitties of all shapes, sizes, and breeds and we want YOU to help us turn them into the beauty kings and queens they’re meant to be! About Grooming at Bay Paws Pet Resort - Trinity

Bay Paws Pet Resort offers luxury boarding, daycare, and grooming services at multiple locations in the Tampa Bay area.

Bay Paws - Trinity is a brand new facility with a large grooming room furnished with top-of-the-line equipment. As a groomer, you will have a built-in customer base from our daycare and boarding customers. A bather can be provided, if needed, based on the number of grooms per day. While we want our grooming salon to be full, we are not a high-volume output facility with strict completion times. We want every pet to be comfortable during their groom.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and address each pet’s individual needs, taking into consideration their coat type, skin condition, and temperament.
• With your expertise and attention to detail, ensure that each pet receives exceptional care, leaving them looking and feeling their best.
• Monitor pets for any signs of discomfort, illness, or injury, and promptly report any concerns to management.
• Provide exceptional customer service by actively listening to pet owners’ requests, offering grooming recommendations, and addressing any questions or concerns.
• Follow standard grooming procedures and breed standards.
• Complete grooming follow-up reports to generate repeat business and foster long-term client relationships.
• Ensure all pet and client notes are put into our online system correctly.
• Ability to balance quality and quantity of grooms.
• Educate pet owners on grooming maintenance and at-home care practices to promote the overall well-being of their pets.
• Learn and follow Bay Paws’ grooming policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure quality and consistency in all areas of the grooming business.
• Communicate with other department leads to ensure the highest standard of pet care and customer service.
• Oversee inventory management.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional grooming experience with a strong portfolio of successful grooming work.
• In-depth knowledge of various dog breeds, their grooming requirements, and common health issues and behaviors.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Proficiency in breed-specific cuts, styling techniques, and grooming standards.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift and handle pets of different sizes, and perform repetitive grooming tasks.
• Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments in a calm, confident, and compassionate manner.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification from an Accredited Dog Grooming Academy.
• Knowledge of animal behavior, body language, and basic care practices a plus.
• Experience with Pet Exec.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation depends on your experience.
