The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for providing HR support and guidance for designated business units. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. This position serves as the department liaison to various departments and locations and requires discretion, confidentiality, and independent judgement. The HRBP will report to and work under the guidance of the Senior HR Generalist.

Job Duties

  • Provides employees and managers with an available first point of contact for questions and guidance on fundamental HR policies and practices.
  • Conducts weekly meetings with respective business units.
  • Assist in HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Assist HR management in addressing employee relation issues and conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Partners with the HR & legal departments as needed/required to reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provides performance management guidance (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Supports business units in maintaining rewards systems to attract, motivate and retain quality employees.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Supports business units in facilitating new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructuring, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Assist in identifying training needs for business units.
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • ADP experience is strongly desired but not required.

Education & Experience

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, employee and union relations, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Or the equivalent in training, education, and experience
  • SHRM or HRCI credential strongly desired but not required.
