The Design Architect is responsible for design and support for project architects for presentation, schematic through complete design solutions in accordance with Hazen design standards. Coordinate with project architects and architectural team for solutions that deliver the design intent in an effective, and efficient manner. Participate in design documentation with other teams to ensure that all building components are fully integrated with one another.

The Design Architect is responsible for design and management solutions that support the needs of Hazen and Sawyer client base. Develop schematic and complete design solutions in accordance with Hazen design standards. Coordinate with internal and external teams including engineering, project management, construction estimating, construction and external consultants to review and discuss solutions that deliver the design intent. Participate in document review with other teams to ensure that all building components are fully integrated with one another.

Requirements:

Professional architectural degree from accredited university; 5-10 years minimum broad-based architectural experience, NYS license not required however a preferred skill set, or the candidate must be proceeding with obtaining licensure; experience in public bid projects, architectural design skills; Understanding of building systems and their coordination/integration; structural, architectural MEP knowledge; Understanding of building codes, environmental regulations and sustainability concepts; Understanding of appropriate materials use and methods of construction; Proficient in Revit BIM software, AutoCAD; MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
