Job Description
The Bartender is responsible to service all guests in the bar in a quick, efficient and friendly manner while maintaining cleanliness of all work areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Guest Service
- Maintains guest service as the driving philosophy of the operation
- Personally demonstrates a commitment to guest service in responding promptly to guests’ needs
- Committed to making every guest is satisfied
- Meets or exceeds guest satisfaction measures
- Ensures hotel standards and services contribute to the delivery of consistent guest service
- Implements and practices guest service initiatives and performs to Gulph Creek Hotel Standards
Bartender Operations
- Assure correct pouring of drinks and ensures proper void handling.
Ensure pleasant and professional relationship with all customers and co-workers and see to specific needs when requested. - Ensure that service and maintenance of the bar area meet the specifications of department guidelines.
- Ensure all sanitation procedures are followed.
- Notify supervisor immediately pertaining to any safety, security or maintenance opportunities for guests or employees.
- Ensure that no one under twenty one is served alcohol.
- Ensure that city and state regulations pertaining to the serving of alcohol are enforced.
- Notify manager immediately when a guest is recognized to be intoxicated.
- Assist management in any other manner deemed necessary for the well being of the operation
- Must adhere to the company employee handbook at all times
- Control, measures and reports Bar Sales Outlet performance on a daily basis and takes required corrective action to ensure operations are in accordance with the company standards and objectives.
Prepare inventory and audit procedures for bar facilities consistent with operational policies and directives. Work closely with the Food and Beverage Manager in regards to inventory taking, cost control, loading, ordering and storing. - Ensure that all bars inventory are counted after each shift report discrepancies.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Gulph Creek Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag when working.
- Comply at all times with Gulph Creek standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
- Other duties as required.
- Working in a professional manner at all times and maintaining a clean work area.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least one year bartending
REASONING ABILITY
Demonstrate the ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
LANGUAGE AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to read and speak English and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees, guests and supervisors for optimum operation of the property
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
