SUMMARY:

This is a senior level position that supports the overall strategic direction of the Saracen IT department under the guidance of the Sr. Director of IT. Casino gaming experience is required,

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for backup, business continuity and disaster recovery procedures for all systems.
  • Interfaces with all departments regarding current information technology.
  • Helps facilitate the flow of information throughout the department, by organizing and attending regularly scheduled meetings with all Information Technology Associates.
  • Held accountable, to the highest degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
  • Assists in planning and implementing departmental procedures.
  • Helps assess new computing technologies to determine potential value for the resort.
  • Assists in developing and managing IT annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Assists in risk assessments and cyber security initiatives.
  • Maintains the highest degree of confidentiality.
  • Leads by setting a positive example to all employees.
  • Must be able to maintain Gaming License.
  • Maintain a consistent, regular attendance record.
  • Requires on call status.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.
  • Directs, coordinates, and delegates IT projects and resource allocation.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises the activities of the Information Technology Associates. Indirectly supervises the activities of all Information Technology users on property.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training Associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining Associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

KNOWLEDGE and SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Knowledge of information technology computer systems and software and the ability to manage the entire spectrum of information technology operations.
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality outputs within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a bachelor’s degree in information technology or computer science and seven to ten years’ experience in a management-level information technology position.
  • Work requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Sciences or Business Administration from a four-year college or university; or seven to ten years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess superior computer skills and be proficient with systems currently in use by the company. Experience with Aristocrat/Oasis Gaming software highly preferred . Experience working with virtualization software, preferably VMware. Must have knowledge and skills to implement industry best practices for backup and recovery strategies. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations. Must be able to communicate with all members of the Systems Team in a professional, cordial manner, to successfully accomplish departmental and company goals. Must be well organized, with the ability to prioritize projects, meet deadlines, and keep management apprised of any issues that might affect deadlines. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, show facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
