BASIC SUMMARY:

Sale e Pepe in Marco Island is currently seeking an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager. The Assistant Food and Beverage Manager will supervise the successful operation of the pool and beach areas in a manner that maximizes profitability and adds value to the vacation experience of our guests and Tarpon Club members. Provide training, communication, and support to maintain and raise service standards to the highest levels of excellence. Model and maintain a personable, professional demeanor while working under pressure in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee, lead, and empower team members to meet and exceed the high standards of excellence and guest services of the hotel and Tarpon Club.
  • Develop relationships with hotel guests and Tarpon Club members to create a friendly, inviting atmosphere and encourage repeat visits.
  • Conduct quality daily line-ups and team meetings to communicate pertinent corporate, team, event and VIP information.
  • Communicate service concerns, safety issues and departmental changes with Manager(s), F&B and/or Executive Director.
  • Attend weekly BEO meetings.
  • Monitor department financials on a regular basis.
  • Complete daily walk-through of facility to ensure that sanitation, safety, preventive maintenance, and other programs are in place in area(s) of responsibility.
  • Conduct and supervise monthly deep cleaning projects.
  • Conduct on-going training of service standards and communicates monthly safety topics to ensure employee safety.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable health, alcoholic beverage, fire, safety, sanitation and other laws/standards/requirements.
  • Address emergency situations in a safe and professional manner and according to standard practices.
  • Inventory beach and pool month end liquor inventories.
  • Ensure accuracy of daily setup of beach, beach bar and pool.
  • Work with the sales team on all events that take place at the beach and/or pool.
  • Communicate with the Manager, Weddings & Special Events on a weekly basis regarding wedding ceremony setup and execution on the beach.
  • Complete the weekly beach/pool staff’s schedule according to staffing standards.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality management and/or Culinary Management is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Supervisor in the field of Food & Beverage and Hospitality, preferably at a resort/hotel.
  • CPR/AED certification required.
  • Responsible Vendor and Manager Food Handling Certificates preferred.
  • Ability to obtain any government required licenses or certificates.
  • Profound knowledge of food and beverage items, methods of preparation and types of service.
  • Strong ability to lead, empower and motivate the team.
  • Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients and other associates of the organization.
  • Effectively and professionally deal with customers, some of whom may require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger.
  • Effectively communicate in English both orally and in writing.
  • Work a flexible schedule including, weekends, holidays, and fluctuating days off.
  • Schedule vacations during the off-season months.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ABILITY TO:

  • Grasp, lift, carry or transport up to 50 lbs.
  • Push/pull wheeled carts weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Stand, walk frequently, reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Perform the duties of this job while exposed to sun and hot weather conditions for prolonged periods.
  • Express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word accurately, loudly and quickly.
  • Determine accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned through visual acuity.
  • Perceive the nature of sounds at a normal speaking level and make fine discriminations in sound.
  • Withstand a moderate noise level.
