Part Time – MUST be available weekends

Job Summary:

The Barista is responsible for serving all products located in the Cafe with a friendly and welcoming attitude and smile. They are customer service oriented, driven, easy to approach, knowledgeable, and helpful. The Barista will fulfill the following duties under the supervisions of their Lead/Store Manager.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Describe menu items to customers or suggest products that might appeal to them
• Provide customers with product details, such as coffee blend or preparation descriptions
• Prepare and serve both hot & cold beverages to customers
• Accurately receives and process customer payments
• Order, receive, or stock supplies or retail products
• Clean service or seating areas
• Check temperatures of freezers, refrigerators, or heating equipment to ensure proper functioning
• Take out garbage/cardboard/recyclables
• Responds pro-actively to prevent customer service situations
• Reports all customer complaints to a manager
• Maintains efficient, friendly service standards

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in retail/food & beverage industry is a plus, but not required
• Basic mathematical knowledge required
• Must pass a background check
• Excellent communication skills
• Basic typing skills required
• Knowledge of a POS a plus, but not required
• Dress appropriately for position adhering to facility dress code
• Must be at least 18 years old

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Regularly required to stand for long periods of times
• Regularly required to talk or hear
• Regularly required to use hands
• Regularly required to reach with hands and arms
• Regularly required to bend
• Occasionally required to lift objects greater than 20 pounds from the warehouse to the cafe
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include: close vision, distance vision, ability to adjust or focus
• The noise level in the work environment usually is moderate
