Seeking an experienced and polished Collections Specialist for an on-site role at a bank in Baton Rouge, LA.

In summary, the Collections Specialist will resolve the delinquent status of assigned past due loans in accordance with Federal/State regulations and established bank policies & procedures.

- Location: Baton Rouge, LA 70808
- Pay: $20-24/hr
- Full-Time, Normal Business hours, Direct Hire

IDEAL APPLICANT WILL POSSESS:

1. Education/Experience: Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school in a Business or related curriculum; or three years of collections related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a finance related industry, with a working knowledge of commercial, consumer, and mortgage loan documentation is preferred. Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.

2. Mathematical Ability: Work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

3. Computer Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Understanding of basic automation software.

Additional Job Duties:

-- Monitor & control past due accounts through online collection system, using info retrieval within system & recording collection efforts.
-- Research account records for discrepancies and posting errors.
-- Document online collection system with all collection efforts including conversations, financial arrangements, notifications, and analysis of loan documents and credit information.
-- Analyze and recommend delinquent accounts for repossession, foreclosure, and suit after all collection efforts have been exhausted.
-- Communicate with customers to resolve delinquent status of accounts. Discuss possible financial arrangements to arrive at a suitable solution.
-- Sustain positive customer relationships while reducing delinquent account levels and discussing sensitive personal financial information.
-- Produce tracking reports of collection portfolio for management review.
-- Collect late fees, non-sufficient funds fees, and other fees associated with past due accounts.
