Summary:
The Grain Receiving Technician is responsible for processing incoming semi-trucks of sunflower and other grains by weighing trucks, testing samples of the loads for quality standards and handles unloading the grain.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor grain storage facilities and identify issues with bins, conveyors, and other equipment.
  • Operate grain elevators, conveyors, and other equipment to move grain.
  • Inspect incoming loads of raw sunflower and other grains for moisture, temperature, and quality by testing product samples.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor grain inventory levels and coordinate with other departments to adjust purchasing and storage levels.
  • Track and record grain movements and coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate records.
  • Collect grain samples for testing and analyze results.
  • Assist with loading and unloading of grain trucks.
  • Identify and document any issues with grain quality, transportation, or storage.
  • Calibrate and maintain grain equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Scaling, loading, and unloading grain trucks.
  • Data entry information into computer system.


Job Requirements:

  • Willingness to work in adverse or uncontrolled environment.
  • Able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to work at various heights, up to 60+ feet.
  • Familiarity with various crops, grains and grain elevator processes helpful but not required.
  • Basic computer skills and strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Mechanically inclined
