Do you enjoy cleaning to music? Then we might have the perfect job for you. We are currently looking for a service-minded person to join our housekeeping staff. In this role, you'll be responsible for cleaning the Cannery Hall music venue. We need someone to work on show nights to assist with keeping bathrooms clean, emptying trash, cleaning spills, etc. This position reports to the Director of Housekeeping. We hope you'll consider joining the friendliest, most hospitable independent music venue in Nashville.

Here is the list of official job duties:

  1. Performs cleaning and housekeeping tasks and services throughout assigned property.
  2. Picks up trash and empties trash containers.
  3. Ensures restrooms are clean and well-stocked.
  4. Assists with the cleaning and sanitizing of shared facilities and common spaces.
  5. Washes windows.
  6. Cleans building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing or vacuuming.
  7. Vacuums and cleans rugs, furniture, etc.
  8. Dusts furniture, walls, décor, etc.
  9. Examines property for safety hazards; reports problems to the General Manager or other appropriate staff.
  10. Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
  11. Properly uses detergents and cleaning solutions according to safety specifications.
  12. Ensures that cleaning supplies are stocked.
  13. Picks up trash in parking lot.
  14. Adheres to all company policies and procedures as established in the Staff Handbook.
  15. Other duties as assigned by management.

Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, preferred
  • One to three years’ experience as a housekeeper or porter in a large, high-volume environment preferred
  • Must pass a criminal background check

Skills and Knowledge Required

  1. Thorough understanding of safety and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
  2. Detail-oriented and thorough.
  3. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  4. Ability to keep the property clean and orderly.
  5. Good interpersonal skills with polite and courteous demeanor toward staff, guests, clients, and visitors to the property.
  6. Good command of the English language.
  7. Ability to listen to and understand guest, manager, or staff requests.
  8. Good judgment and decision-making skills.
  9. Reliable, responsible, and dependable.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high energy, and physically demanding environment.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and reach for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to push, pull and lift objects from a lower to higher position or move objects horizontally, from position to position.
  • Must be able to maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching in narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
  • Must be able to carry loads greater than 35 pounds and exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently.
  • Will be required to use physical capabilities including climbing and ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
  • Able to hear sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
  • Able to work in environment with moderate to high noise levels.
  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Able to work varied shifts, including evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
