RISE Racks Thrift Store!

Job purpose

The purpose and responsibility of our Thrift Store Associate is to assist, teach, support and encourage individuals in a retail store atmosphere. 

Daily Duties  

• Greets and interacts with customers.
• Retrieves merchandise from sales floor, stock room, or other inventory locations;
• Sorts donation items at our warehouse;
• Collects payment using the store point of sale system.

• Exemplify the culture and mission of the agency;
• Support individuals in the retail environment;
• Understand and support individuals needs outlined in their Individual Support Plan;
  
• Keeps Retail Store – both interior and exterior – clean, organized, and tidy;
  
• Help individuals develop aesthetic awareness;
• Teach individuals to use the creative process and problem-solving skills;
• Guide individuals to search for innovative approaches to meet challenges;
• Bring enthusiasm to the workroom;
  
• Support the mission and vision of RISE Community Services
  

Communication

• Represents RISE Community Services in a professional manner to families, service coordinators, State officials, and community partners when required;
• Maintains employee confidentiality;
• Communicate effectively with supervisor including reporting unsafe conditions, accidents or incidents to the safety and wellbeing of all RISE affiliates.

Teamwork

• Treats all individuals and coworkers and with dignity, respect, and fairness;
• Be a team player;
• Work cooperatively with other departments to carry out the program goals and objectives of individuals served;
• Foster and maintain relationships will all levels of the RISE team.  

All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications 

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Have high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have and maintain current driver’s license and be able to obtain a Missouri Class E chauffeur’s license within 14 days of hire.
• Must successfully complete a pre-employment background check.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Physical requirements 

• Prolonged periods of standing, leaning, walking, bending, and lifting.
• Ability to lift/push/pull 50lbs.
