Staff Accountant

Job Description:

Our client is looking for a meticulous Staff Accountant to join their team and support their finance department in various accounting and financial tasks. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. This position will initially be on a contract basis with the opportunity for permanent placement based on performance and business needs.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
2. Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets.
3. Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
4. Support month-end and year-end close processes.
5. Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
6. Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
7. Provide support for special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role.
3. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).
5. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Experience with month-end and year-end close processes is a plus.
