SUMMARY: Interacts with credit union members to accurately conduct all credit and debit transactions in compliance with established credit union policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Greets members with a smile in a friendly, courteous and professional manner
- Develops and maintains account relationships, provide solutions, and resolve member problems through quality service and product knowledge while maximizing cross-selling opportunities
- Performs routine member transactions, including, but not limited to deposits, withdrawals, cash advances, cashier’s checks, redeem savings bonds, loan payments, transfers and check cashing on credit union data processing system
- Processes information pertaining to members’ accounts and routes to proper department for processing
- Provides in person, by telephone or mail such explanation as member authorizes concerning their account
- Educates member on value added products and services and employs related cross-selling/service standards
- Processes and prints Instant-issue debit cards at member’s request
- Assists members in opening sub accounts
- Conducts daily opening and closing of terminal; accounting for assigned cash; balancing to terminal close report; remitting daily work to supervisor, and other support activities
- Adheres to all policies and procedures
- Other duties as may be assigned
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
- Places cash order for Service Center on a weekly basis
- Assists in performing end of night job duties and check scanning
- Works Saturdays in the Gurnee Service Center on a rotating basis
- Fulfills Receptionist duties at the Gurnee Service Center, as needed
- Works as ITM MSR, as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education Required: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Experience Required: One (1) year of cash handling and customer service experience
- Experience Preferred: Two (2) years of cash handling and customer service experience
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs):
- Mathematical skills
- Organizational skills
- Ability to count cash accurately
- Ability to perform job functions independently
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to verbally communicate effectively with internal and/or external members
- Ability to use computers and job-specific technology/software efficiently
- Maintains confidentiality
- Performs responsibilities with composure, quality and accuracy under stress of deadlines/requirements
TRAVEL: Up to 10% local travel to assist with service center coverage
