Job Description

Position purpose: Food expeditor / runner is a member of the Food & Beverage team servicing the Sky7 Outlet; assisting the outlet waitstaff and kitchen staff by completing the meal plate for presentation to the guest and controlling the flow of food orders in and out of the kitchen. The food runner / expeditor is responsible for the delivery and clearing of all food items, trays, and tableware throughout the Sky 7 outlet and ensuring proper delivery of items to the appropriate location.

Food Runner / Expediter

• Ensure dishes are delivered according to service standards, in appropriate order to the correct guest, at correct temperature.

• Promptly greet guests as they are seated and bring bread, butter and water to table.

• Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course in the absence of busperson.

• Clear tables after guests in the absence of busperson.

• Transport soiled tableware from Sky 7 outlet to dish-room and unload, sort and stack silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in designated areas in the soiled dish drop off area.

• In the absence of busperson, between seatings promptly clean table tops, chairs and booths; check floor and clean as required; and reset and arrange tabletop.

• Inspect assigned restroom every 30 minutes and clean as needed.

• Respond appropriately to guest requests; communicate guest requests to server as needed.

• Communicate with server and hostess to assure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service.

• Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods.

• Assist in handling cash and credit transactions with proficiency when needed. 

• Thank guests appropriately as they are leaving the outlet.

• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Sky 7 outlet as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.

• Follow all uniform guidelines presenting a professional appearance.

• Practice all safety & sanitation standards. Essential Skills:

Education: High school diploma Experience:

• Preferred: minimum of (2) years Restaurant experience

• Preferred: minimum of (2) years hands on experience with food & beverage operations Licenses or Certificates:

• TIPS Certification within 60 days of Employment

• Must meet any city, county, state or other legal minimum age requirement to sell/serve alcoholic beverages.
