Mercy Flights is accepting applications for a full-time Field Supervisor.

The Field Supervisor has direct responsibility and authority for medical operations personnel on assigned shifts; Accountable for compliance of all federal, state, and local EMS regulations; Enforces company policies, guidelines, protocols, contracts, and directives; Works a designated schedule as assigned by the Ground Manager. To perform this job successfully, the candidate must successfully be able to perform all the essential duties contained in the Paramedic Job Description, as well as the essential duties listed in this job description and meet performance measures set by the company.

Position Information:

  • Full-time, exempt position;
  • Twelve (12) hour shifts;
  • Full benefit package including; medical, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, short-term disability, 401k w/company contribution, employee assistance program (EAP), earned time off (ETO) and company paid uniforms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains daily oral or written communication with Supervisors on other shifts;
  • Coordinates activities as assigned by the Ground Manager or VPO;
  • Provides ongoing direction of all assigned EMS units and medical personnel;
  • Coordinates all field activities on assigned shifts, delegating assignments as appropriate, including unit staffing, unit posting, proper stocking of equipment, vehicle maintenance, and cleanliness;
  • Participates in Operations and Leadership meetings, and other meetings as directed;
  • Monitors all medical operations and takes corrective action as necessary concerning any breaches of policies or regulations, resolving any issues which may interfere with ongoing maintenance of the expected operations level of readiness and efficiency;
  • Monitors performances of all medical personnel according to company policy, guidelines, Jackson County Protocols, and directives. Normalizes accountability/feedback conversations with medical personnel. Develops medical personnel by initiating and implementing plans to improve employee performance;
  • Provides oral or written reports to Leadership on all matters concerning medical personnel, including staff input, concerns, recommendations, etc.;
  • Completes all required forms, reports, etc. required by policy and guidelines.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Associates degree in Paramedicine or equivalent education and experience required to obtain an Oregon Paramedic license;
  • Minimum of three (3) years required working at a Paramedic level on a 911 ambulance. Previous EMS experience below the level of a Paramedic may also be considered; (HR and Hiring Panel will consider good standing candidates who do NOT meet the 3 years requirement)
  • Oregon Paramedic License;
  • Valid Oregon Driver’s License;
  • Nationally Registered Paramedic certification. If not Nationally Registered Paramedic certified, must provide proof of continuing education matching Nationally Registered Paramedic standards and requirements at recertification times;
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS or PEPP certifications. Required to obtain eighteen (18) months of start date in position;
  • Must successfully complete and pass a pre-employment and annual Paramedic physical exam and functional testing as a condition of continuing employment;
  • Must meet and maintain competencies required of a Paramedic (see job description);
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, subordinates, customers, outside agencies, and the public;
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations;
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and guidelines concisely and legibly;
  • Requires computer proficiency including experience using Microsoft office, (word, excel and outlook), and a working knowledge of internet and web-based applications.
