Job Description

The Steward/Dishwasher is a great first step in your culinary career! We are seeking a diligent and organized individual to fill the role of Steward/Dishwasher. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of all culinary kitchen areas. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding health and safety standards.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Sweep and mop the entire kitchen, dish areas, restaurant line, and walk-in coolers.
  • Clean china, silverware, and glassware using dish machine or by hand as necessary.
  • Wash and clear counters, shelves, and kitchen equipment.
  • Clean dish area and kitchen mats.
  • Assist cooks with set-up, breakdown, and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Monitor trash and recycling levels, disposing of waste as needed.
  • Wash pots and pans, returning them to their designated places after cleaning; scrub kettles and skillets.
  • Enhance organization reputation by fulfilling additional requests and seeking opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Ensure compliance with all Health Code guidelines to guarantee safe handling of items consumed by guests.
  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with team members to accomplish daily tasks.


Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One to three months of related experience or training preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
