Material Handler

Material Handler GVM Inc is currently seeking a Material Handler to join their team in Biglerville, PA 17307. Who we are: GVM is a family-owned company with deep roots in the agriculture industry. The company originated from Andgrow, in East Berlin, Pennsylvania. Andgrow was a fertilizer dealership, founded in 1975 by Jack Anderson. Shortly after it’s beginning, Jack decided he wanted to be able to offer his employees year-round, full-time employment, so Andgrow began manufacturing foam markers in the ‘off-season’. In 1977, Andgrow became GVM, Inc. and we continued to add to our product lines to be a full-service agricultural retailer and snow equipment manufacturer. About the role: The GVM Material Handler will be responsible for receiving incoming goods and their dispersal, picking of parts for sales orders, proper packaging of parts, and shipment of parts. The Material Handler will follow all written and verbal instructions as dictated by the warehouse manager. What you'll do: • Pull orders from sales order picking sheets in the order that they arrive. • Package orders neatly and sturdily for shipment to customer. • Fill out all shipping and receiving paperwork correctly as assigned. • Receive incoming goods correctly and efficiently. • Must be able to lift to seventy-five pounds. • Always keep work area neat and tidy. • Help maintain proper inventory counts of all parts in stock. • Follow all safety mandates and policies. • Always promote a positive attitude. • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor. Key Performance Metrics: • Shipping & Receiving Accuracy • On-time Delivery • Inventory Accuracy Our ideal candidate: Education and experience • High school diploma or GED. • Prior warehouse experience is preferred but not required. • Forklift operation experience preferred but not required. • Basic computer skills. Skills Required: • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. • Ability to read and understand written and verbal instructions. • Excellent people and communication skills. • A high energy level. • Displays self-discipline. • Must be a fast learner and be able to adapt “on-the-fly”. • Must be dependable.
