Summary of Position

The Optician/Optometry Coordinator will provide support the fitting and adjustment of frames for patients, as well as the coordination of services with our community partners and internal staff. Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Coordinator will lead scheduling operation processes for the Optometry service line while measuring productivity via reporting and collaborating with district and school administrative staff, nurses, and principals.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree Preferred; ABO Certification

Experience: At least 2 years Optician Experience; Experience working with schools preferred; Skilled at Microsoft Excel and Office

Key Responsibilities (10-Core)

Optician Responsibilities

  1. Take measurements, fit and adjust frames for patients according to written optical prescriptions
  2. Assist patients with frame selections to ensure optimal fit and patient satisfaction
  3. Complete and submit daily exam reports, and meet deadlines
  4. Make follow-up calls to patient caregivers for feedback as needed

Optometry Coordinator Responsibilities

  1. Work with program manager to outline a strategic schedule for mobile vision clinic at schools according to the relevant district calendars to maximize students served; as well as vision clinics at Kintegra Health facilities
  2. Work with operations department, nurses and county health officials, principals, district administrators to both proactively identify and suggest changes to the schedule and to react quickly to ever-changing needs relating to the schedule, including provider unavailability and urgent visit needs
  3. Support program manager by maintaining all relevant programmatic data points
  4. Serve as bridge between program manager, operations staff, and districts to ensure schedule changes and updates are communicated in a timely manner

Other Responsibilities

  1. Maintain optimal driver safety standards when driving, parking, and using the vehicle
  2. Setup of clinic, monitor/replenish inventory – to include loading, visually inspecting, and fueling the vehicle
  3. Keep the vehicle and work areas clean, sanitized and organized at all times
  4. Other duties as assigned
