Pay: $32-$34/hr

SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Electrician must be able to perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and disassembly for production machinery and facilities’ equipment. By developing an increasing understanding of plant equipment and machinery, the Maintenance Electrician helps maintain the productivity and quality of the manufacturing operation.


Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

Must have the ability to read complex blueprints, read electrical diagrams and schematics. Must understand fluid power dynamics, principles of lubrication, electronics, automated welding technology and pneumatic controls. Understand mechanical principles such as use of bearings, bushings and seals. Be able to consult manuals with code specifications. Must have machining capability. Must have or be able to obtain a Powered Industrial Truck License (Mandated by MIOSHA Standard Part 21) in all necessary equipment to perform job duties.

Physical:

This position requires long hours of standing and walking as well as lifting up to 60 pounds.

Mental:

The Maintenance Electrician must be able to communicate well, both written and verbally. Good

mathematical skills and an understanding of mechanical principles are necessary.

Working Conditions:

Hourly position. This job involves a minimum of 40 hours a week with the possibility of working on

Saturday and Sundays.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs complicated installation of machines including the wiring of panels for control systems (PLCs). Installs wiring and conduit to and between machines, relays, sensing equipment, circuit boards, switches, and position sensing devices (poke yokes). Maintenance experience with Fanuc Robots and CNC (Haas)
  • Operates various types of equipment to perform setup and take down of equipment (Hilo, cranes, hoists, etc.).
  • Ensures operation of equipment by performing repairs on electrical components that are found in conveyors, pumps, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines such as stamping presses (Niagra), welders, pemserters (series 2000) and spinners to ensure proper operation
  • Accomplishes improvements for existing machinery and leads efforts to complete large-scale repairs in cooperation with other skilled trades’ staff.
  • Inform appropriate personnel regarding routine electrical preventive maintenance procedures to avoid creating downtime.
  • Tests and diagnoses mal-functioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, lighting fixtures through use of testing equipment and hand tools.
  • Verifies repairs to equipment.
  • Maintains inventory of equipment and parts by checking stock and informing Purchasing.
  • Completes maintenance logs and other schedules as required.
  • Maintains good safety and housekeeping practices.
  • Practices safe driving skills with regard to the handling of a powered industrial truck and maintains a current powered industrial truck license.
  • Other duties as needed at the discretion of the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Experience with Voltage 480/240/120 AC and DC controls.
  • Troubleshooting controls, sensors, VFD’s, PLC’s, transformers, etc.
