POSITION SUMMARY

The Attorney and Client Trial Support Specialist is responsible for assisting case teams with the planning and set-up of litigation events including trial sites, arbitrations, mediations, hearings, and depositions. The Attorney and Client Trial Support Specialist will consult with attorneys, paralegals, and other team members to determine scope of services needed. This position often represents the firm at venues outside the office and must convey professionalism at all times by thinking independently, demonstrating good judgment, making decisions within strict time constraints while maintaining composure under pressure. Duties of this position include assisting the Trial Support Services team members in organizing and preparing for litigation events, assisting with locating hotels, war rooms, procurement of office space, and coordinating the various vendors/internal resources associated with providing services to a site. While on-site at litigation events, duties will also include performing concierge logistics tasks such as searching for laundry services, working with catering services to create meal menus, stocking the war room with trial team requested supplies, assuring that all personnel and/or boxes are transported to court, whether through a hired service or driving a rented vehicle, assuring that trial teams are provided lunches while at court, delivering documents or supplies to court if needed, and any other tasks, assignments, projects requested to keep the trial site flowing smoothly.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Extensive travel required (up to 50%) for on-site work at litigation events that may result in stays lasting multiple weeks. Travel may be on short notice.
  • Work both on- and off-site for litigation events to assist the Trial Support Specialists and trial team.
  • When on-site, perform concierge logistics tasks to support the trial team.
  • Contact hotels and request proposals for rooms and meeting space based on trial team requirements.
  • Consult, advise and assist attorneys, paralegals, and other case team members on preparations for attending the trial site.
  • Assume financial responsibility for all projects, including creating budgets, and processing deposits and invoices.
  • Perform any additional administrative tasks the group is responsible for as well as any administrative tasks that the trial team may have.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent require. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years law firm trial site experience required.

COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of and experience using common business software including Microsoft Office products such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other software tools, as necessary.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and conduct multiple related activities.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to communicate at important levels with attorneys, witnesses, and clients.
  • Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and sound independent judgment.
  • Ability to exercise diligence, including follow up and follow through.
  • Must be able to work the necessary hours to fulfill the responsibilities of the position and be willing and able to manage frequent overtime assignments.
  • Ability to "switch gears" mid-project to take on new tasks while completing all projects with accuracy, proficiency, and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

SALARY

New York based applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $116,000- $135,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications ,market data and internal equity. Total compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, yearly retirement plan contribution, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Bay Area based applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $122,000- $144,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications ,market data and internal equity. Total compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, yearly retirement plan contribution, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Los Angeles based applicants only: The target annual salary range for this role is currently $108,000- $126,000 based on a regular, full-time schedule. The amount of compensation offered will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications ,market data and internal equity. Total compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, yearly retirement plan contribution, and a comprehensive benefits package.
