The Chemical Engineer position is responsible for providing technical expertise to engineering team and fabrication of materials. This position will design, develop, and implement testing procedures to analyze data to support the various projects and programs.

  • Sample preparation and testing using Perkin Elmer 2400 series Carbon Tester to compile and analyzes data and provide information to engineering or other parties as necessary.
  • Perform uranium characterization studies using tension, impact, and other mechanical testing techniques.
  • Metallography of Uranium samples.
  • Microscope evaluation of metallography samples.
  • Provide support for mechanical engineering members of the Engineering Technology Group.
  • Use chemistry skills and knowledge as part of the Engineering Technology Team.
  • Assist with production projects that require formal Uranium Chemical testing.
  • Assist with scheduling of Engineering Technology Group projects.
  • Use computer-based design software for engineering projects.

Minimum Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
  • Takes the initiative
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledgeable & productive in Microsoft Suite and other collaboration tools


Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Prior Metal Fabrication experience
  • Familiar with government contracts and compliance
