Summary: In addition to performing the responsibilities of their assigned position, the Dining Services lead is responsible and accountable for the operations of the dining services department in the absence of the Dining Services Supervisor/ Manager. The Dining Services Lead will ensure compliance with established policies, procedures and guidelines, and lead team members to provide efficient and high quality services.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Communicates and promotes Pyramid Healthcare’s core values and mission.
• Responsible for guiding and supervising food service operations during assigned shifts.
• Ensures staff effectiveness, efficiency and client satisfaction per established policies and procedures.
• Assists with the preparation, cooking and serving of food.
• Provides direction, training, and coaching to employees in collaboration with the Dining Services Supervisor.
• Ensures that standards are maintained for food quality and service.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment by complying with food safety procedures and guidelines.
• Motivates team members by creating a supportive and collaborative work environment.
• Assess team performance during assigned shifts and provides feedback to the supervisor.
• Conduct shift huddles to review standard work, prioritize tasks and encourage productivity.
• Assists with ordering and maintaining accurate food and supplies inventory.
• Ensures proper operation and maintenance of department equipment; reports needed maintenance and faulty equipment to supervisor immediately.
• Maintains excellent customer service and resolves client concerns in a professional manner.
• Promptly reports workplace accidents, injuries, incidents, or illnesses.
• Addresses client concerns during shift and consults with the Dining Services Manager/Supervisor, as necessary.
• Completes required trainings and mandatory training hours.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Licensure, Education & Experience
• One year experience in food service preferred.
• Proven history of consistently performing at a high level in a team environment.
• Proven leadership ability and/or experience.
• Serv-Safe certified or be willing to obtain upon hire.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, twist, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds. The employee must seldom carry up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.


Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderately quiet & indoors. This position will be scheduled based on operational need & will be required to provide own transportation. Incumbent may be exposed to viruses, diseases, and/or infections from clients in the work environment. Incumbent may be exposed to traumatic situations (i.e. psychiatric).
