Equipment Repair Coordinator
$21.70 - $25.53
REPORTS TO: Purchasing Manager


POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, the Equipment Repair Coordinator assists in the organization and coordination for the repair, inspection, and preventative maintenance of medical and dental equipment. The individual will coordinate, schedule and track equipment maintenance and repairs with subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians. When appropriate, may troubleshoot equipment issues using manufactures manual, repair, install and update some equipment. The individual demonstrates adherence to the Brockton Neighborhood Health Center core values in all professional interactions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associates degree in a technical/electronics field preferred or two years minimum experience working with medical and dental equipment in a clinical environment.
  • Valid driver's license required; variable travel requirements to off- site locations that may require use of personal vehicle.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE BASE:
  • Computer skills with proficiency in Excel Software
  • Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in time management and organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Works with subcontractors, vendors, manufacturers and outside service technicians to ensure proper and safe operation of all medical and dental equipment.
  • Adheres to Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP), including all regulatory agency compliances and other applicable policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring all service and documentation is complete, timely and accurate
  • Receives, reviews and prioritizes work orders requests.
  • Performs regular visual inspections of all equipment. Documents and reports assessments to manager.
  • Works with dental supervisor to monitor, track and request PO for dental equipment repairs and service.
  • Create and maintain excel database for medical and dental equipment records.
  • Oversees and tracks dental sensor repairs/replacements with IT and updates spreadsheet accordingly.
  • Accompanies subcontractors, service technicians, and outside vendors while in the facility for all dental and medical equipment repairs and service calls.
  • Coordinates and schedules the repair and installation of equipment with outside vendors and on occasion may repair and install some equipment.
  • Oversees and accompanies annual equipment inspections with outside vendors.
  • Coordinates disposal of non-repairable equipment.
  • Monitors and tracks movement of rental equipment, equipment out for repair, loaner equipment and permanently assigned equipment inventory.
  • Builds and maintains internal and external relationships with clinicians, staff, and outside vendors.
  • Keeps manager, clinicians and staff informed of equipment repair status, etc.
  • Schedules safety inspection for new equipment with outside vendors.
  • Contacts equipment manufacturers for repair, calibration and software updates as needed.
  • Facilitates equipment returns to manufacturer for service or replacement.
  • Advises manager of any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Monitors and informs manager of the status of repairs, scheduled inspections, unusual equipment situations and any other concerns.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in a busy community health center in and urban neighborhood. Physical demands require walking and lifting packages and equipment (up to 50 lbs.). Walking and/or driving between health center buildings for delivery/distribution of mail, supplies and equipment. Interruptions are present and can be disruptive to work flow. Stress is present due to high volume of work, diversified nature of activities and frequent deadlines. Preforms other employee duties to cover for staff absences. Visual acuity sufficient for frequent reading. Hearing acuity sufficient for holding conversations with or without audio devices.
