Parts Runner - Residential Service HVAC

By joining our Residential Service Team as an Parts Runner, we will teach you:

Responsibilities

• Maintain the overall standards of quality, performance and courtesy set forth by GSM Services and its leadership team, providing Comfort & Peace of Mind to your customers and coworkers
• Wear proper uniforms and maintain personal appearance to GSM Services standards
• Maintain attendance in accordance with GSM Services standards
• Fill out time cards daily, ensuring that card is checked and reviewed weekly by Service Manager.
• Pull filters, parts and materials as needed for Res. Service Department calls for specific technicians.
• Deliver filters, parts and materials on a daily basis to Service Techs in the field.
• Replenish service van stock daily from parts pull sheets.
• Aid the Service Technicians in completing calls when required by the Service Manager.
• Attain parts, materials, etc. from suppliers when required for all 4 divisions. Primary responsibility is with the Service Division.
• Assist in quarterly/annual inventory of Res. Service vans.
• Perform full van inventory when employee is moved into or out of an existing van.
• Attend weekly Service Department training and as scheduled.
• Assist the warehouse with covering for absent warehouse staff and with standard warehouse duties when required.
• Demonstrate moderate/good improvement over the first few months of employment
• Track all warranty parts and is responsible for collection from technician after repair. Complete chain of custody form for part tracking.
• Deliver warranty parts to back to manufactures and fill out all paperwork accordingly to attain warranty payment.
• Keep detailed records of warranty parts delivery time and to whom and documents in case issue with refund occurs.
• Demonstrate the initiative to learn the trade and be willing to partake in any training offered by GSM Services and its vendors
• Assist the technician in complying with all GSM Services and OSHA safety regulations on each call
• Maintain the delivery vehicle in proper working condition and report any issues immediately.
• Keep company vehicles clean, both inside and out
• Work each day to the Sundown Rule
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Possess the ability to read and write English to a HS level
• Must have valid NC or SC driver's license and maintain a clean driving record
• Minimum of 1-year employment with GSM Services prior to consideration for advancement.

Physical Demands

To adequately perform the duties of this job the coworker is regularly and routinely required to sit; stand, walk, stoop, use hands to finger, handle controls; hear, and talk. The coworker frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The coworker must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Individual must be able to climb and utilize both step ladders and extension ladders and not be afraid of elevated work areas.

Work Environment

The work environment noise level is usually moderate but will vary occasionally. The work environment will subject coworkers to continual interruptions and changing priorities. Effective, consistent, and constant communication with customers, vendors, coworkers, and others.

Working conditions will include rooftops, concrete structures, ceilings, crawlspaces, attics, mechanical rooms, basements, extreme weather conditions, etc. Individual must be able to perform duties without reasonable fear of spiders, rodents, etc.
