Looking for an RN Shift Supervisor to help fill in some shifts from 2:45pm-11:15pm weekdays only.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Presents self as a role model to achieve the mission of Rest Haven-York. Is a creative, positive, enthusiastic, confidential, team playing, problem solving, and interactive professional.

2. Leads – Sets high and positive standards for staff. Promotes and creates a work community. Shapes staff to be future leaders through: training, education, evaluation, and guidance.

3. Communicates effectively in both verbal (staff, physician, resident, and guests) and written prose (policy, procedure, Medicare/medical assistance form, chart, care plan, cardex, etc…).

4. Assesses quality of resident care-makes rounds, performs chart review, and conducts inspection tours.

5. Knowledge of and ability to interpret and implement state and federal regulations.

6. Manages and supervises the nursing operation for the nursing service to include scheduling, evaluating, counseling, and commending employees.

7. Insures compliance with all established regulatory and organizational standards.

8. Provides supervision, support, consultation, and evaluation to nursing staff, supervises N.A. trainees in the clinical setting.

9. Follows and promotes resident care as defined in the plan of care for each resident.

10. Participates in the development and implementation of clinical and administrative policies and standards of performance.

11. Remains current in field by attending meetings, seminars, in-services, conferences, workshops, and/or higher education courses and by reading professional journals, newsletters, and bulletins.

12. When sole RN in building and department heads & administrators are not here, will need to manage or make decisions concerning other departments, their employees, and issues normally handled by others. Emergency call list is available for follow-up with administration and all department heads.

13. Recognize your role as part of the QAPI efforts of your organization.

14. Attend trainings to build understanding and capacity to undertake QAPI work.

15. Carry out QAPI roles and responsibilities as assigned.

16. Follow established policies and procedures in support of QAPI efforts.

17. Look for and share with leadership ideas for improvement in the organization.

18. Communicate to leadership upon witnessing a positive outcome of a QAPI project or detecting barriers preventing project success.

19. Support QAPI efforts both verbally and non-verbally (i.e., via actions and attitude). Including performance and practice in accordance with QAPI initiatives and findings.

20. Recognize your role for Trauma Informed Care: Promotes a culture of safety, empowerment and healing; recognizes that everyone who interacts at Rest Haven may have past traumatic experience and protects trauma survivors from being re-traumatized.

21. Recognize your role for Compliance and Ethics: Participates in annual compliance and ethics training. Follows code of conduct reporting any compliance and ethics concerns.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

1. Well-lighted and ventilated office and nursing units.

2. Exposed to infection, odors, and peculiarities in behavior.

3. Sits, stands, and walks intermittently throughout the workday. Bends, stoops, lifts, pushes, pulls, etc…

4. Working hours will be flexible and dependent on need.

5. Out of town travel required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Registered professional nurse, who is licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

2. A minimum of two years experience in a supervisory capacity. Preferred experience in a hospital or extended care facility.

3. Educated in rehabilitative and restorative nursing techniques.

4. Professional with integrity, an achiever, and a leader.

5. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, OBRA, and state nursing home regulations preferred.

6. Criminal history background clearance: Act 169 and Act 13.

Basic computer knowledge required. Computer care plan and scheduling preferred.
