Avenues Recovery Center at Prince Frederick, MD is seeking to hire a Clinical Supervisor!

Avenues Recovery Center located between Waldorf and Annapolis, MD is a unique community-based residential treatment facility that's truly customized to the needs and unique circumstances of each individual. Primary Responsibilities:

Program Management

  • Execute and cultivate the Avenues Philosophy in all aspects of client engagement and treatment planning, individual, group, and family interactions, staff development, clinical programming, and interventions.
  • Provide individual and group supervision to members of the clinical team and counselors in training
  • Maintain all administrative aspects of the Avenues clinical roadmap and support its execution in collaboration with Director
  • Manage clinical program schedule that integrates our curriculum and best practices
  • Provide daily meeting minutes and follow up for all supervision meetings, huddles, and consults
  • Conduct weekly chart audits to ensure adherence to all documentation timelines and requirements
  • Identify and address staff training needs as relates to quality of clinical intervention and documentation practices
  • Collaborate with Director daily to evaluate and address all needs and challenges related to staffing, training, group facilitation, individual therapy, and behavioral tech involvement and all other clinical operations processes relating to the clinical program

Client Engagement

  • Directly engage clients in treatment as needed and ensure all clinical staff remain focused on fostering clients' commitment to the recovery process and extended care
  • Support Clinical Director in managing admissions through client engagement, assessment, and collaboration with admissions team as needed
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of each client's strengths and struggles to drive ongoing effective multidisciplinary team consult, shift reporting, and impeccable documentation and charting.
  • Increase client motivation and commitment to treatment through direct client engagement and intervention, group facilitation and collaboration with clinical team and support staff to address any identified risks or needs
  • Support Clinical Director in facilitating crisis interventions and helping prevent clients from leaving treatment against medical and/or clinical advice
  • Facilitate group to maintain a current understanding of community needs, trends, and challenges to support targeted team intervention
  • Facilitate relationships with family, collateral, and others influential in client's treatment in collaboration with primary therapist
  • Maintain a small client caseload; conduct individual and family therapy, document contact with collateral contacts, develop individualized treatment plans collaboratively with each client based on biopsychosocial assessment, utilize evidence-based interventions to best facilitate meeting of patient specific goals, maintain timely documentation.

Compliance Oversight

  • Maintain a timely ongoing review of patient charts to ensure all compliance timelines are being met for each patient while in treatment through use of the chart review form and weekly review of the counselor trackers
  • Support Clinical Director in identifying training needs and ensuring clinical staff is properly trained to maximize treatment potential and maintain meticulous and timely client records
  • Support clinical staff in continuously improving the quality of client care and documentation through ongoing record reviews, observation, and supervision
  • Utilize the audit to identify missing documentation for each client, communicate deficiencies to appropriate staff, and ensuring documentation is completed each week and discrepancies in charting are resolved.
  • Maintain detailed supervision notes and meeting minutes to provide accountability that improves staff performance

Utilization Review Support

  • Engage clinical team, administrative staff, and the utilization review department upon admission and for duration of treatment to provide detailed medical necessity criteria to drive authorization and retention through individualized care.
  • Provide timely responses and detailed clarification for all utilization review specialist requests
  • Conduct peer reviews and single case agreements when necessary
  • Reinforce commitment to client care by ensuing all direct client care staff capture all client reports, observation, and intervention in client chart
  • Utilize UR requests and staff interaction to identify gaps in treatment intervention or program and collaborate with clinical and executive director to evaluate further and improve staff performance, care standards and/or processes.

Qualifications:

  • Credentials: LCPC, LCSW, LCSW-C, LCADC
  • Three years experience working with chemical dependency or dual diagnosed clients preferred
  • Supervision experience preferred
  • Valid CPR certification and First Aid preferred
