Job Description
KVC is seeking a Family Support Worker to provide direct services to the diverse children and families we serve while also providing assistance to Case Managers within their team.

***Hybrid Work Schedule: may vary based on customer needs***

KVC Kansas represents one of the strongest and broadest child welfare and behavioral healthcare continuums in the nation. We are responsible for the care of all children who are served by the Kansas Department for Children and Families in the Kansas City Metro and East Regions. KVC is seeking a Family Support Worker to provide direct services to children and families while also supporting Case Managers within their team. Due to the unique needs of the families we serve, this role does not have a predictable schedule. KVC staff have the flexibility to manage their own time to create a positive work-life balance, but there will be evening and weekend work required as well as significant travel time to visit families in their homes. The use of company fleet vehicles is available for company travel.

There is a $2000 Sign on Bonus associated with this position. It only applies to External Candidates

This position requires a High School Diploma or GED and applicants must also have a valid driver's license and auto insurance. Experience with childcare is preferred.

The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:

  • Provide direct services to children and families and assist fellow Case Managers within the team
  • Assist in researching community resources for families
  • Participate in and document case planning conferences
  • Demonstrate superior organization, time management skills and professionalism.
  • Monitor, correct, and update the data input of team members to ensure continuous data improvement and compliance with State and Federal regulatory agencies (Strong computer skills are necessary to maintain documentation in KVC’s proprietary software)
  • Perform face to face contact with families in their homes and supervise parent/child interactions
  • Participate in staffing cases
  • Arrange transportation for clients to case plan related activities
  • Present as a positive role model for clients and families
  • Attend court hearings as required and represent the agency in a professional manner
  • Assist in filing as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned
