DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will support a bridge inspection team leader in performing technical duties related to the inspection of bridges and other structures, following the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS). This includes conducting safety inspections on existing bridges, examining their structural members, foundations, supports, and components.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, on an ad-hoc basis. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Clearfield.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as an Engineering Technician (commonwealth title); or
• Two years as a Transportation Technician or Construction Cost Technician 1 (commonwealth titles); or
• Three years of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work; or
• Three years of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; or
• One year of construction inspection experience, and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

• This position requires possession of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent.
