Job Description:



Trimper Rides is seeking a dynamic full-time year-round Operations/Park Manager to oversee and manage a 130 year old small family owned amusement park. We currently have 12 inside rides in our Historic Carousel Building and 18 outside rides. We have numerous games along the boardwalk and within the midway. We also have an affiliate company, Marty's Playland that includes a popular boardwalk Arcade with a variety of over 264 different arcade games for all ages. Marty's Playland also has 11 vacation rentals located above the arcade. We strive to show all our guests the safest and most enjoyable customer experience every time they visit any part of our business. This role is integral to maintaining a fun, efficient, and safe working environment. 


The ideal candidate will have leadership qualities and experience to motivate, direct, and further develop an effective team that understands the common goals necessary to support a process-based culture and provide accountable leadership in all business entities. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays between March and September and Weekdays during the off season. Must ensure all parts of the park are operating effectively in terms of safety, staff and equipment and communicate effectively with senior management.

Position and Responsibilities Overview:


  • Manage and supervise day-to-day operations of the park and department managers including a diverse staff of up to 185 employees
  • Safety is our top priority; the the successful candidate will conduct routine checks on ride operators and maintenance staff to ensure proper and safe operations of all attractions at all times
  • Experience with budgeting and managing P&Ls
  • Analyze P&Ls and recommend corrective action steps as needed
  • Review annual budget requests from all department heads and establish budgetary and cost control strategies for all departments
  • The ability to manage seasonal fluctuations and recommend changes to park schedule 
  • Must be an effective communicator supported by excel based reports to demonstrate accountability and coordinate work and communications between departments as necessary
  • Oversee the ride and facility maintenance, project management, IT, F&B, Marketing and Games Depts.
  • Coordinate with head of ride maintenance to make sure all rides are operational and all inspections are completed on time to stay compliant with established safety programs
  • Must be a proactive problem solver with a strong teamwork ethic and positive attitude
  • Oversee the staffing and scheduling department to maintain cost effective budget goals
  • Summarize progress on short term objectives and report them to the Pres/CEO
  • Coordinate outside contractors with park and related facility projects 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with outside vendors
  • Maintain a critical oversight of marketing functions
  • Identify training needs and ensure proper training is developed and provided including established certification programs for ride maintenance team
  • Oversee the effective application of health and safety regulations and risk assessment to ensure a safe environment for park employee and guests
  • Conduct performance reviews of staff and employee warnings as needed 
  • Build effective staff teams, through performance management, training and personal development


Education and Experience Qualifications


  • Must be at least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the United States
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Must have at least 5 years of management and supervisory experience in the amusement industry
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and operational standards within the amusement park industry.
  • Technical competence and computer proficiency in Microsoft 365 platforms
