Job Description

We are searching for an enthusiastic, service-focused hotel front desk agent to join our guest services team. You’ll welcome guests, manage accounts, answer inquiries, and field complaints to ensure we deliver an excellent experience to every guest. This shift is full-time and may consist of 7A-3P or 3P-11P

Compensation:

$14 - $14.50 hourly

Responsibilities:
  • Bookkeeping: keep accurate records of all hotel guest account information
  • Mitigate customer complaints as needed
  • Answer incoming calls and questions about guests’ needs in-person and online regarding room bookings, room rates, amenities, available rooms, rewards programs, and special requests
  • Greet, check-in, and check out guests when they arrive and leave the premises, distribute keys and room assignments, and record credit card information
  • Work with the housekeeping staff to ensure rooms are ready for new guests
Qualifications:
  • Possesses strong customer service skills, interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and time management skills
  • At least one year of hospitality industry experience as a hotel front desk agent or similar position preferred
  • Must have graduated high school, received a GED or equivalent
  • Has previous experience or working knowledge of Microsoft Office and reservation management systems
  • Comfortable taking telephone calls and mitigating stressful situations
  • Must be able to handle credit cards and third-party reservations correctly. Agent must know how to handle this

  • This position is full-time for the 3 PM - 11 PM shift and 7 AM - 3 PM shift
  • Must possess the confidence and the ability to handle customer complaints and issues with grace

About Company

The Hotel Indigo Birmingham is located in a landmark Art Deco-style building dating from the early 1930s in the city's historic Five Points South neighborhood.
